Tax is a hot topic in the lead up to the General Election 2026. But the conversation has largely failed to engage with what tax does for us and how the political parties propose to fund better futures for Aotearoa, given the challenges we face – from an aging population to responding to climate change, from tackling intergenerational inequities to reversing increasing concentration of economic and political power.

Join the Better Taxes for a Better Future campaign and our coalition organisations to push the parties seeking to form the next government to explain how they'll raise the revenue we need for the things that matter — our hospitals, schools, transport and water infrastructure — and how they will gather that revenue in a more balanced way.
